THE trout, a dinghy and the basin

We had three days of extremely stormy weather. Lots of rain, and howling winds - it was whistling through these old wooden window frames and some water was leaking in too - towels at every window! The house got a good rattling! This is a little creek running next to our house, it was in full flood.

perfect for some fishing. (with a paper bag?!)

he didn't catch anything. so dissapointing!

On Saturday, Emma & I and the kids went to The Gorge & Basin, so much water!! It was very noisy!

remember the swimming pools? They're completely underwater.

Reinier (and Joshua) bought a dinghy! Its perfect for on the river, and I'm sure they'll spend many happy hours in it. (I'm never allowed to talk about 'Pappas boat', its 'Joshua & Pappa's boat.)

Joshua says that when Pop comes to visit, he will show him how to start it and how it works and take him for a ride. ;-)

On Saturday, Reinier, Brendan and his son Bohdan braved the cold at 6am (it was a -3degree night!) to go trout fishing at 4 Springs Lake. It was the opening of the trout season, so of course they had to go.

Bohdan caught two!

it was so cold, even the penguins were out!

yippeee!!! One happy hubby. He caught a whopper brown trout on his fly rod. I guess all that practice paid off!

It was a great day, Bohdan and Reinier caught two, and Brendan caught one.

  1. I love how adventurous your men are!!! That was one huge trout. Raymond went trout fishing in June too, and caught a few. Josh is one fun boy! Hope you're doing well too, Jell! xxx
