My sister in law Anneke will DV be holding her new little baby next week! (nr 3!) Her baby room is green & white with an owl theme. So I made her this blanket, it turned out really well, so soft!
Welcome to our online photo album. Grab a coffee and stay a while! We hope that through this blog, the distances between our friends & family will become that little bit smaller...

Eina!! not for sensitive viewers...
Eina! (Ow!) Yesterday, Joshua decided to climb on a chair and pull a glass vase off the shelf. Somehow I managed to catch it just before it fell on his head (thankfully!), but it broke and cut my thumb. Now, I cant stand the sight of blood, so my legs gave in :-) and I felt quite wobbly. There was alot of blood everywhere, and Joshua was giving me lots of cuddles and kisses and saying "Mamma, Eina. Soentjie. Beter." Too cute! I called Bob and she came over to give me some sugar water and cleaned up the mess - now thats what you call a good friend!! When Reinier got home, Bob took Joshua with her, and bathed and fed him while we went to hospital. Four stitches later, a bit of pain medicine and we were home again. Its just so annoying more than anything, its quite tricky changing nappies with a sore thumb that I dont really like to bend! I can get the stitches taken out next week.

RT-far-T - Paper theme!
So, it was time for RT-far-T again. It is once a month at my house, I just haven't been very good about taking photos, but I remembered to last night! There were only 5 of us last night, quite a few are away because of the school holidays. Louise made cute cupcake holders, they are going to look so cute for her daughters b'day 'tea party'.
Bob made these gorgeous paper flowers out of an old book and some wire.
...and these fridge magnets. They would make any fridge look cheery!
I made these paper birdies, I love how they turned out. Its just scrapbook paper and large wire paper clips for legs. Too cute.
some cookies, lollies and some wine and we're all set.
little birdie wall art made by Inneke. Sweet!
I love the little bit of extra detail on the magnets
flower power wall art by Annelieke
Another fun evening!! I'll remember to take photos of next months RT-far-T. I think the theme will be chalkboard...

winter? what winter?
I've really been enjoying winter this year, its been lovely & mild. Yesterday it reached 26deg here! Ok, its quite chilly in the evenings and early morning, but by 10am you can find me sitting on the stoep basking in the sun, with a cup of coffee. (sorry if you're slightly jealous Liana, haha!) x
Joshua collected all these sticks for me, and I thought they look quite nice here!
I'm enjoying these pretty flowers
Yesterday I asked Roy to make a garden bed for me around this tree. Then Joshua & I made a trip to the nursery and came home with these plants, so pretty, and NATIVE (to keep hubby happy!)
not sure if this one is native...oh well, I like it!
Joshua helping Pappa fix the irrigation. This is what Joshua says: "Joshi.pappa.'elp.mooi"
hmm, I notice a bit of scribbling on the table? oops!
looking so sweet an innocent :-) This shirt was sent by Aunti Akkie when he was born, and it fits him now! (ok, maybe a teeny bit big, but it looks so cute!) Thank you Auntie Akkie, doesn't he look handsome! xx
