little boy, big bed!

Well, Joshua's baby room is becoming more and more boyish! He sleeps in a big bed now, and didn't come out once last night. (Lets see how long that lasts!) I still need to shift the cot out and the old mat. Its a very big room, so its hard to make it look 'full'. This post is for you Emily!

I put a pool noodle under the fitted sheet as a 'railing' it works perfectly!

So, Joshua is 2!! We had such a lovely day. He was totally spoiled, and had so much fun playing with all his friends and cousins!! We thank God for blessing us with such a great, healthy little boy, full of character and charm! Never a dull moment. We love him!

Joshua just loved his present, a red steel wheelbarrow. At the moment he's going up and down the passage in his jaamies with a wheelbarrow load of animals.

 Anri & Joshua are the best of friends! She is 1 month younger. I look after her and her brother every Thursday afternoon, so they know each other well. Here they are with their 'loot'!!

 

Caught out! What a great plan. They stashed their loot in the bath and decided to eat it all there. Much safer, no chance of other kids eating it! ;-)

first thing this morning - Joshua still looking sleepy!

now where could he be...

So, I couldn't find Joshua. I was looking for him EVERYWHERE, our yard is rather large!! I must have walked past here 3 times, and every time getting slightly more worried. I suppose I should have noticed this little chair. Hmm?

 

 Then I walked past again and the lid of the dog food bin wobbled a bit. I nearly jumped out of my skin, it could have been any weird & wild animal! SUPRISE!!

Joshua is doing really well with potty training! Only 1 oopsie today so far. I now have a jock-wearing-tree-climber.

the rainy season

The rainy season is here!! I love this time of year, its just so refreshing, especially after so many months of no rain at all. The air is fresh and clean now, aahhh...

 

We get the most awesome thunder storms here in South Africa, this photo was taken at 3:30 in the afternoon!! It goes very very dark, and you can hear the thunder slowly rolling in from far away, and then suddenly BAM!!! Joshua & I nearly jump out of our skin. But we are used to it! Sometimes it is so loud it makes your ears hurt and you just see a big flash of blue outside. Its often VERY VERY close.

We got alot of rain & hail last night. Joshua had fun playing in it this morning! A big pile of it accumulated under the down pipe. The dogs were eating it, and Joshua thought it was ssooo funny!

Regardt turned three in August, the party was at Buffelsdrift. We got to sleep over on the Friday night, always a treat. Here is Leon trying to put together a new toy. Instruction manual needed!

he likes wearing this 'hat' and will often just stand next to the fence and chat to the maids as they walk past. "Hello Gogo!"

 

We went to the zoo, this was the best bit for Joshua (sorry about the blurr)

 my lunch on most days...its yummy, honest!!

 

Joshua's new trampoline, he figured out how to do somersaults the other day, very tricky!

 

we went to the farmers market to buy some more honey & veggies...but somehow came home with this.
