We thought we'd be good tour guides and take Greg & Liana to the Voortrekker monument to learn a little bit about the history of South Africa.

There are amazing carvings all around the inside of the building. If you follow it around, it tells a story. Its so well done!
A huge old bible. I'm just very glad that we have 'smaller versions' these days!
An embroidery. There is a whole wall of these which also tells a story.
An old saddle. Amazing how they made things like this many years ago.

We climbed to the top. You can see a wall of wagons carved into the wall around the monument. This symbolises a 'laager'. The voortrekkers would camp inside a ring of wagons at night for safety.
